The Hate U Give

Due to all the good press this book had in 2017, I had high expectations for this book and I was not disappointed. Dealing with often overlooked topics such as racism ad prejudice, the book describes a society where what you say could literally rip your community apart. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, not only because of its straight, forthright way of writing about a very serious matter, but also because of the main character, Starr's family. I admired them because of how, whatever happens, they always stick together.5/5 stars.
