The Stars at Oktober Bend

This book is unlike any I've ever read before and I really like it. The characters are written in a way that gives the reader a real deep connection to them. I felt really attached to what happened to Alice and to all the main characters. The story line starts off a little slowly and doesn't really pick up until near the end but that gives more time to get to know each of the characters. The lack of capital letters at first annoyed me put further through the book I started to understand why. The poems are also really clever and help the book to move along whilst also showing more of Alice's character. The book is very cleverly written and is a nice way to look at issues like the one Alice has.
