The Smell of Other People's Houses
The Smell of Other People's Houses wasn't what I'd call a good book at all. The fact that Alaska in the 1970's was supposed to be like growing up no where else, really didn't show in the story, with the only exception being some Alaskan scenery. The plot just seemed slow and quite ordinary, with characters who didn't seem interesting at all-unless you like books with modern plots(e.g. running away from home), I wouldn't recommended it to many people.
