The Stars at Oktober Bend
A truly beautiful book is hard to find. You need emotion but happiness; issues of our time written subtly so as not to swamp readers; characters that we can relate to without making us question our life choices. The Stars at Oktober Bend is a beautiful book.
It shows you how horrible people can be, but also how their victims can forgive and be compassionate even through their darkest times. It shows that twelveness can give way to fifteen without an in-between with the help of a kindred spirit who has a similarly damaged soul. People changing and growing in the midst of crisis shows the joy another person can bring and gives those in relate-able scenarios hope that they can get better and power through every day the same way Alice did.
