The Bone Sparrow

The Bone Sparrow is a heartbreaking book which covers serious topics. It's told from the perspective of Subhi; a refugee born in an immigration detention centre, who has never has never known any better than the life he's already got. Will he escape? What's in store for him? Is he safe? This book really reminds you of the hardships around the world and how different our lives are compared to someone living in a detention centre. This may be a fictional book, but The Bone Sparrow is relatable to many lives in this world and can replicate the story of millions. I would recommend this book to those who want to read an emotional story with tragedy and are interested in finding out about the life in a detention centre. Overall, I would rate this book 8/10.
