Jack, Meridian Readers
Railhead is set far into the future when humans have developed interstellar travel which creates an experience which entices the reader to carry on with the plot. The author uses the right words at the right time to create a powerful setting with an enigmatic plot. The plot's resolution is constructed really well, and not as cliche as the other books I have read within my time at this school. The main character Zen Starling is made out to be a simple thief but he develops as the plot develops creating a sense of joy whenever good information appears, and sad when we get bad info.Philip Reeve has carefully constructed this story in such a way that we feel hate for the cooperate families and sympathy for the poor families in the slums. I recommend that people read this if you like adventure, mystery, betrayal and even love.
