Salt to the Sea

This was the first of the 7 that I have started reading and it lived up to my expectations in most areas. Although I found the end quite confusing due to a mixed, unexplained plot line coming on to the scene in the last few chapters, the middle of the story was brilliant. I found the plot line very interesting and it taught me a lot as well as giving a good book to read! My favourite areas of the book where the chapters on the boat during boarding and most of the voyage. I thought the characters were well created and it was good to read the story from all different viewpoints. However I found Alfred's character a little boring in the chapters narrated my him as he is just sending these messages to this girl that hasn't been introduced. I found it exciting and most of all very unpredictable.
