The Smell of Other People's Houses
"Four very different lives are about to become entangled" This is the end of the blurb of 'The Smell of Other People's Houses' and summarises the story very well. Each of the main characters, Ruth, Dora, Alyce and Hank, have an interesting and engaging story line and the way that they connect is very well thought through. I did enjoy this book however I found some parts hard to understand or to properly loose myself in but this could just be because I don't fully understand their culture. I would also like to read this book a second time (like I do with most books) to see if I can try and get something new out of it. Even though was engaged for most of it I didn't quite get the part when they found out that Ruth's mother is alive as I was under the impression that she was dead. Although I found a few fault with this book, it is probably just me and I am looking forward to the rest of the books!
