Will, Book Chasers
Sputnik's Guide to Life on Earth
Salt to the Sea is a phenomenal book, written by Ruta Sepetys. It is written in the time frame of Winter in 1945, and is told from four different narratives. Each character’s backstory is extremely cryptic.
Salt to the Sea is an astounding book, and is surely Sepetys’ best work. All the characters have unique and (to a certain extent) relatable backstories of leaving home, or being tricked, both very significant issues that are still around today. It is at times a sad book. I would name pages, but I do not wish to spoil the book for a newcomer.
This book is accurate to the period of time in which it is based, where Hitler and Stalin are fighting like jealous brothers.
I personally will be reading more of Sepetys’ work. I would rate this book a 10/10, and recommend readers to be 10 or above.
