The Bone Sparrow

This Carnegie shortlisted book is moving, real, and heart-breaking.
The novel is about a little boy called Subhi, who was born in a refugee camp, and has lived there all his life. He is an intelligent, curious, open-minded and open-hearted character. However, my favourite character was definitely his older sister, Queeny. She is smart, independent, and a very strong character. Throughout the story she was supportive of Subhi and their mother and is overall very likeable.
I think this book was amazing and that it will last. It was definitely a book that needed to be written, as it spreads awareness. I really hope it wins the Carnegie this year!
