The Smell of Other People's Houses
I really got into this book from almost the first page and found the intertwined personas of narrators very intriguing, but with some characters the ways in which they were linked between chapters was a little predictable and I would have preferred them to have been revealed later on in the book, with a little more mystery about their backstories. I think the use of Alaskan knowledge was a massively important part of the book and the new culture exposed to me was exciting to learn about.
The characters were well-created and each had a clearly contrasting personality and voice meaning I didn't end up confused throughout the read as to who was talking.
I would recommend this book for someone looking for another outlook on life but I wouldn't expect this one to win the competition due to the links of love which are becoming more and more common and therefore easy to see before being revealed.
