Millie, Queen Elizabeth`s Grammar School
I found this book interesting but vague to start with, not quite knowing exactly where it was set or what life was like; however by half way through I was hooked. As more of the mystery was revealed I enjoyed it more and more, growing to love the characters and the unique story line. I found it interesting to learn about what life was like Pennsylvania during the war and to learn about justice and friendship through this moving story. I liked being able to try to decipher the crime as Annabelle did before it being revealed, and felt immersed in her life through the tragic event. Watching Annabelle grow through courage and resilience was wonderful to read, made even better by the beautiful way it was written.
