Rahul, Colton's Keen Readers

Wed Wabbit

To me, Wed Wabbit was not what I expected. I thought it would be about a rabbit on an adventure or something full of thrills and action. The first few pages I read were good. As I read on I noticed that Wed Wabbit was a stuffed toy...... Kinda let me down a lot but okay :) The more I read this book I noticed how I was losing interest and just didn’t want to read anymore as it totally was not what I expected. But I managed to read the rest and finish the book. Here’s what it’s about :
Minnie has a 10 year old sister who is still mourning her father's death. Minnie’s sisters name is Fidge. Fidge blames herself for what happens to her younger sister. Minnie always forces her to read her favourite book, The Land of Wimbly Woos. Whenever Fidge reads it to her, Minnie tells her off for not reading it with “expwession”. Minnie cannot say the letter R. This is also why her stuffed toy is called Wed Wabbit.
After Fidge throws Minnie’s toys (including Wed Wabbit) down the cellar, the story starts to get weird. Suddenly we are in Wimbley land with colourful dustbins and rainbow colours everywhere. To this point it just got ridiculous and full of a lot of random things.
In my opinion I do not think this is a Carnegie winner and I did not quite enjoy it. I give this book a 4/10
