Sputnik's Guide to Life on Earth
Despite my misgivings as to the appeal of this book - I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. Whilst simply told, the story is also very moving, highly amusing and at times laugh out loud!
Definitely more suited to younger readers, but most people should enjoy the story.
From Prez to his grandfather, the "temporary accommodation" family and above all Sputnik, each character is richly described and central to this tale of separation, dementia, old age and loss.
The final chapters of coming to terms with life and realising that home is SO important to all of us and why this is so, is something we all need to realise and maybe not take so much for granted.
