Sputnik's Guide to Life on Earth
I really enjoyed the first chapter of Rail Head because I personally love sci-fi and in stereotypical sci-fi there are usually wars or robots that have gone wrong, the other genre I would say is adventure, it is surprising that I like this because I don’t usually like adventure. The opening chapter is about a robbery and the character Zen. Zen is a thief who has just stolen the wrong thing: an expensive necklace. I was hooked after the first three sentences because even though Zen is a thief and you don’t want to like him, you do! He doesn’t steal anything ambitious and he just made a mistake, he was lured in by the necklace coming from the local Astro belt. We begin when Zen is running to go to the interstellar Express. And then we are given an explanation for the beginning. Zen seems to be very good at hiding. In the blurb there is an acrostic poem about Zen Starling:
I think that we see this in the first chapter because there is a lot of detail for a character. We also see that he is good at heart but is forced into being a thief.
I recommend this book because it is a very thrilling and you want to read on.
