Release is a novel with two unconnected stories. One is about a gay teenager, Adam, who is conflicted in love, and the other is about a ghost seeking vengeance. I found that having the book switch between two very different stories incredibly confusing and found it hard to invest in the story in both.I did enjoy the parts of the book that revolved around Adam Thorn much more than the parts with the ghost because I found the characters had much more depth and it felt more down to earth. I would recommend this book to an older reader who enjoys a book with engaging characters and two separate problems. But personally, I don't think this book was really for me.
