After the Fire
This book is based around a siege in Waco, Texas and takes us into the accounts of brain-washing cults. Moonbeam, who has lived there all her life, is investigated by the FBI – is it her fault? I felt this book was superbly written and makes the siege believable and almost realistic. The reader is able to sympathise with Moonbeam and can really become emotionally involved with the character. However, I felt the ending was somewhat predictable which didn’t, in my opinion, make this book gripping. Therefore, I would give ‘After The Fire’ 7/10.
