Tabbie, King James's Royal Readers
The Bone Sparrow
This book grabs you and pulls you in right from the start, then keeps you interested the whole way through.
Subhi is a great character because he seems like a pretty normal kid who has been thrown into a rough situation and has had to adapt to it. This makes him very relatable as we all have to adapt to things each and every day.
Also, the relationship between Subhi and Jimmie is great because they appear like each others guardian angels who help each other get through the separate bad things they are going through.
The way that Harvey refused to stand up to Beaver really annoyed me, but I also understood that Harvey felt loyalty and gratitude towards him because of their past so felt that he couldn't turn on him and tell him that what he was doing was wrong because it felt like he was throwing it back in his face.
What happened with Eli made me cry as we had seen his character develop throughout the book and how he had affected the way Subhi had grown up and it really surprised me that it was in this book.
