Angus, John Mason School - Abingdon
I thought this book was really good because of its distinct atmosphere and personality. It is set during the second world war like Salt to the Sea, however this book focuses quite a lot on the impacts of world war 1 and is out in the country (away from the fighting). I thought it was a little slow to begin with but this if a common fault with books, however as I began to reach the halfway mark I really began to enjoy seeing the characters evolve and the plot unfold.
I would give this book a 8|10
and would recommend it for readers from 8 up
