The Bone Sparrow
I think that this book was trying to send a very big message to the readers, that detention camps were not a nice place and that it is now place for teenagers or any one for that matters. Other than that I didn't really like the book it didn't really feel realistic and kind of complex. It didn't really make much sense to me but I did like the backgrounds about the characters. I could kind of tell that the author thought carefully about the characters, even though she could have left a few things implicit so that the reader can really think about whats going on.
I can see why people who loved the story the boy in the striped pyjamas liked it. The story is sensitive and takes time to unfold. However I'm kind of confused where the author got such inspiration, I mean its not just everyday you think of young teenagers at a detention camp. But another thing I like about this book is that it makes you think about the world and how people were treated.
I recommend this book to like I said before anyone who loved the book the boy in the striped pyjamas but for an age recommendation I say 11 year old and over.
