Leela, Saint Barts (Carnegie)

Wed Wabbit

This book was probably written for children younger than us and I don't think I know anyone my age who enjoyed this book. To be honest it was childish and silly, nothing was explained well and I just don't think it is fit to be a Carnegie book. The fact that a lot of r's are missed when some characters are speaking just makes the book even more confusing. There was a point whilst reading it that I thought maybe it could get better, but the author failed to explain how and why Fidge and Graham were sucked into the land of the Wimbley Woos with all of the toys. The Wimbley Woo land itself is basically how you'd picture being sucked into a 3 year olds dreams to be like, dumb and unrealistic. This book was far too childish to be shortlisted. It would of made more sense if they'd came up with a reason as to why they all got stuck in another world. It also made no sense to me that Wed Wabbit was destroying Wimbley Woo world when he really should be trying to get back to the only person who cares about him, Minnie. I didn't enjoy this book and wouldn't recommend it to anyone whose over 5.
