This book was 9/10 for me. There wasn't a very dramatic event that changed EVERYTHING, but there was an event that seemed real and down-to-earth. I think what happened to the 'evil character' was shocking, however, it wasn't very big and scary. The blurb and the beginning of the story made it look like the story was going to be mainly based around the rook, however, the story took a personal turn for the character and the story ends up becoming about how he fixes his mistakes. I think the reason I liked it so much was because it was more realistic and based on events that could happen in real life.
Plus, I like how the bully has a story that makes him evil, as most 'bad guys' in stories are just cruel for the sake of it, however, this one was not. That could also be how it seems so real. Overall, this book was one of my favourite ones I have read in a while. I would recommend to a friend. 9/10
