Railhead

Railhead by Philip Reeve is the best Carnegie shortlisted book I've read so far! It is beautifully written and has a very simple but effective storyline: trains. It starts off with a boy, called Zen, stealing from different market across what is called "the great network". It then goes onto him getting involved with "freedom fighters" and stealing on a totally different scale!
I would definitely recommend this it to a friend, but only of an age of 11 and above because it is very dark and the storyline is quite complex. 10/10
