I felt as if there was a whole book that could be written about Manny and his experiences as a child soldier. The horrors that he went through were only touched upon which I think was a good thing as the horrors of Alice's situation were enough to contend with.
It was a book which showed the worst and the best of humanity and whilst I was still reeling at the end , there was optimism.
