The Graveyard Book

The graveyard book is great if you really like: a quick read, adventure, a good story, and a boy who is brought up by ghosts. It starts of the best way, with a murder of a whole family by "the man called Jack". of course, the hero, who at this point is a baby, cleverly climbed out of his cot, as he loves to crawl around, and headed for the graveyard. He is named "Nobody Owens", because nobody owns him. His school teachers are famous writers, poets, mathmeticians, scientists etc.
He is best friends with a girl who lives outside the graveyard, and they meet at the age of 5. they are reunited later on in the book, when "the man named Jack" returns to finish of his job.
Neil Gaimen is known for his famously creepy books(don't believe me? try Coraline for button eyed other mothers who try to steal children, or The Wolves In The Walls, or The Sandman), and this doesnt disappoint. Be warned, when you finish this book, you will read more and more Gaimen books, over and over again. They should be classics, or used to scare small children.
