The House With Chicken Legs
During our next session, we were unable to discuss the books as we had all read different ones from each other! This meant that we were unable to debate about the books, so we talked about the voting system and how it works. Later, we went into groups (based on the books we had read) in hope to express our ideas without spoiling it for anybody else. One of the books we reviewed was the House With Chicken Legs. Book Title: The House With Chicken Legs Author: Sophie Anderson Illustrator: Elisa Paganelli Rating: 4.5 Summary of the book: Marinka dreams of a normal life, where her house stays in one place long enough for her to make friends but her house with chicken legs keeps moving without warning, She is destined to become a Yaga like her grandmother but when she starts meeting living people, she's not sure she wants to anymore. Who was your favourite character? Why? Marinka because she is curious and daring, willing to break some rules in order to discover more about herself, the Yaga family and her connection with the house with chicken legs. Which was your favourite part? Why? My favourite part was the ending because it was very peaceful and a great compromise between what Marinka wanted and what she was destined to do.

Don't judge a book by its cover...
During one of our first meetings in the library we, as a group, took part in an interesting activity. We all voted on the book we thought had the highest chance of winning, before the books were read. The aim of this activity was to see how our opinions differed as well as discussing our views. The majority voted for 'Long Way Down' as the winner, and we look forward to seeing if the old saying'Don't judge a book by its cover' is accurate...
