Favourite books OF ALL TIME (Part 1) ~ Blog 6
Evie-Rose: My favourite book is "Am I Normal Yet?" by Holly Bourne because it is relatable and is unique as it is so difficult to find an author that understands how hard it is for people with mental disorders to go through their everyday life. This book is about a 16 year old girl called Evie. She has started a new college, however, after a terribly disastrous date her worries escalate, starting a relapse. But Evie is busy hiding her problems in an effort to appear 'normal' in front of her new friends. She just wants to fit in. I love this book so much as it is soooooo relatable and has also helped me to deal with some of my problems.

Our Reviews (Part 3) ~ Blog 5
Gabriel: The Skylarks' War by Hillary Mckay is a book about a brother and sister's life from 1902 - 1918 when the First World War came to an end. At the start of the book Clarry (the main character) was born and her mother died 3 days after giving birth. Clarry's brother (Peter) blames Clarry for their mother's death. Their grandmother comes to look after Clarry with Clarry's cousin (Rupert) who then goes to boarding school. War broke out quite soon after Clarry went to an all-girls school. Rupert went to go and fight. Soon after that Simon (Peter's friend) goes to find Rupert. Peter couldn't go to fight because he had jumped out of a moving train a few years before that. I enjoyed this book because I like books that are about the war as they are very emotional.

Our Reviews (Part 2) ~ Blog 4
Natan: "The Boxer" is an eye-opening book. The main character Sunny has to cope with his terminally ill father and an isolating move to Bristol. He suddenly becomes a victim of an unprovoked attack which threatens to destroy all his sense of self-worth. Against all his morals he starts going to his local boxing club, battling inner demons as well as opponents in the ring with an inspiring mentor and coach. I believe that this is an influential and important story for our times.

Our Reviews (Part 1) ~ Blog 3
Joseph: "That Asian Kid" is an incredible and unpredictable book. The main character, Jeevan (an intelligent 15 year old Asian boy) an A* student in every subject apart from English language. However, Jeevan has a feeling his English teacher is prejudice against him which results in his bad grades. Fortunately for him, he sees his favourite teacher Mr Green and his English language teacher Mrs Greaves snogging and more. Jeevan quickly pulls out his phone and records it. Jeevan is unsure on whether or not to post it on social media or not. I would recommend this book to teenagers and above due to its sexual scene which is inappropriate for younger children. I really enjoyed this book because I can relate to it.

Why Reading is SOOOO AMAZING! ~ Blog 1
Our school offers a range of enrichment programs such as Book Prizes. Every single person in this enrichment has chosen it because they are COMPLETELY OBSESSED with reading. Shoshana: I chose this enrichment because by reading, I can explore the world, the past, the present, the future all without leaving my chair and "you know you've read a good book when you turn the last page and you feel a little as if you have lost a friend" ~ Paul Sweeny. Alfie: I chose this enrichment because when I read, I realise that the sky isn't the limit. My mind and my imagination is", plus "there is no friend as loyal as a book" ~ R. G. Collingwood. Evie-Rose: I chose this enrichment because I wanted to learn more about books, why they are being chosen for prizes and how authors come up with these amazing things. "The journey of a lifetime starts with the turning of a page" ~ Rachel Anders.
