Extraordinary Eastborough

Group status: we meet every Monday afternoon at Dewsbury Library. As a group we have really enjoyed discussing the illustrations within each of the books, thinking critically about the illustrators different styles, judging and reviewing the books and getting creative

Two members of our 2018 group with their fabulous masks!

We are Year 5s from Eastborough Primary School and we have spent the last six weeks working really hard in our Greenaway shadowing sessions and learning about how the real Greenaway judges select the winner of the Greenaway Medal. We have looked closely at the seven shortlisted illustrators, their different styles and techniques and how well their illustrations go with each story. We have judged the books for ourselves using the Greenaway Medal criteria and come up with some fantastic, creative ideas as well - please take a look at our photos in the Greenaway gallery. We hope you enjoy reading our reviews!
