After the Fire

As the book continued my understanding of Moonbeam, the Base and the day of the fire changed and I kept on wanting to know what the next 'Before' chapter would reveal, or whether she would tell DI Hernandez and Agent Carlyle about the day of the fire.
I got to know Moonbeam very well and I got very attached to her, the children and the adults at the therapy centre because of how Moonbeam thought of them. My views of them changed as Moonbeam's did, but they seemed very realistic throughout the book.
The way the author uses flash backs to convey how Moonbeam feels and what happened, without telling you about everything that happened in The Base, creates a sense of mystery - as if you are one of the people trying to work out what happened before the fire.
I really liked this book and I would recommend it to everyone in my class. I became very attached to Moonbeam, Honey and Nate, and I felt empathy for all of them. 9/10
