Long Way Down

A Long Way Down is a book filled with mourning, reunion and above all revenge. You follow a 15 year old boy named William (Will) as he overcomes the 'death' of his older brother Shawn shot dead by a gang called 'The Dark Suns' who follows by the rules of his family to kill Shawn's murderer but can't bring himself to harm someone. On the 9th storey of an apartment building he takes an escalator and on the long way down to the landing, he meets many people from his past and present who help paint the full picture of which led to Shawn's death. An unexpected visitor enters changing the whole story. 'A Long Way Down' is an excellent and well written book which grabs all the readers to be immersed in the story as if they were another civilian on the escalator and I believe that this is one of the best books I have ever read and would strongly recommend it. I believe this has a huge chance of winning.
