The House with Chicken Legs

"The House With Chicken Legs" is not a book I would usually read. It is a tale (written for a younger audience) of a young girl who lives in a house with her grandma whose life is dedicated to guiding the dead (the young girls -Marinka- Destiny is the same). The book is loosely based on the Slavic fairy tales of Baba Yaga and is great read for any age. I really enjoyed this book and couldn’t put it down. At first it was hard for me to understand how Marinka could miss something she never had-friends - but as you read on, it revealed she wanted to experience the stories she read about and make her own memories to share as she knows they are important because of her guiding experience. In this book I could imagine everything, it was such and interesting and hooking book which showed me how desperation can help you overcome your grief and challenges and brought me memories of books I used to read- this book was also an emotional read showing that we should not take things for granted and enjoy them whilst they last.
