Long Way Down
I found this book both powerful and haunting. The book is about Will, a boy who has lost his brother , father and friends to gun violence, and how he copes with loss. This book can be interpreted in different ways and that is what I find most interesting about it.
For the most past the story is set in an elevator and every floor that is stops at a new'ghost' from Will's life walks in.
The novel is based around the 'Rules'. If someone you love gets killed find them and kill them. No crying. No snitching. I like the way this book is written in verse and the impactful illustrations. The ending is left quite open and once you get into the book is extremely gripping. I found the found quite emotional and would recommend it to anyone. I rate it 5 stars.
