Lewis, Sir Harry Smith Community College

Rebound was a very interesting read that I found very entertaining, this was a book unlike the books I would normally read. Instead of a fantasy adventure style novel I normally enjoy, Rebound is a sports themed novel documenting a young boy(Charlie)and how deals with the grief of his father. Charlie has two best friends named CJ and Skinny, these two really help Charlie escape from his downwards spiral of mourning. Whilst on holiday at his grandparents he begins to play basketball, the sport this book centres around. First he plays with his cousin Roxie at the youth club, however he isn't very good but he trains with Roxie whenever he can and begins to get better. He improves so much when he plays against another team he is a lot better. This is because he dedicated many hours to using basketball as a coping mechanism for his father's untimely death.
