The House with Chicken Legs

I read this book expecting a light hearted childrens novel, and, honestly, this book surpassed my expectations. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. the house with chicken legs has a very solid plot, with multiple twists and turns, and I was engaged in the story almost every second. at times, I found the main character, Marinka, very annoying, her refusal to understand, coupled with her complete and utter rejection of the sentient house, made me a bit cross. Due to this, I very much enjoyed the ending, I felt it resolved this very nicely. the way we saw Marinkas character blossom was very well done. Overall I very much enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it! I would say that a wide range of people can read this book, from around 8-14 or maybe even older!
