Mrs Beach, TCOLC Perfictionists
The Land of Neverendings
I was disappointed with this book as I thought I would love it and be charmed by it in the same way as 'Wed Wabbit' and 'Five Children on the Western Front.' However I was not feeling it with this book. I found it over-long and rambling and boring towards the end and I just did not buy into the character of the adult, Ruth, at all. There were some bits that were amusing such as the doll who had a bag on her head for being too pretty and the other who was dressed as a nun to hide the fact 'bum' had been scrawled across her forehead. The toys games and concerns were endearing and the whole story made me realise how lucky we are to have our imagination!
