Abi, St Helen and St Katharine

Rebound is about a young boy who’s mum believes he’s having a hard time after his dads death so decides to send him away to stay with his grandparents for the summer holidays. He believes this to be the worst holiday yet and spends the first couple of days with his grandma and grandpa moping around in a bad mood. However things seem to brighten up and throughout his stay he makes new friends, discovers new hobbies and takes risks that will change his life for ever. I didn’t really enjoy reading rebound at first because it was set out in a odd one page per chapter way which made it an interesting but boring read. It was boring because the story didn’t contain much detail and it was similar to just reading a poem or a main story line not a book. However it was an interesting layout and I found the overall idea and plot for the book good but the detail and information during the read could be slightly better in my opinion. Additionally once you had got into the book it was great. Other than adding in more detail the book was a different read and it was good for me to pick up a book of a slightly different set up. Overall I would rate this book 8/10 however other people may enjoy reading this style of book. I would give it 7 because once you get used to the style the book is great. Furthermore I would recommend this book to people 9-14 that are fast readers because the book is fast paced and I found it better to read fast and in big spaces of time
