The House with Chicken Legs

The House with Chicken Legs is not your everyday book. The title says most of it - and then you read the blurb and realize how weird this book really is. Not only is there a House with Chicken Legs, but there's a portal for the dead to go through inside? It's certainly an original plot, and it's great that this old fairy tale has been reincarnated into a new novel. The novel itself is okay. It's not particularly gripping, and the dialogue was a bit odd sometimes - it seemed a bit stilted, perhaps to give the impression that they were speaking in a foreign language. Whatever the reason was, it made the novel less readable. None of the characters were particularly memorable. Overall, the idea is fantastic, but the writing of the House With Chicken Legs could have been better.
