Whilst reading bone talk I found that it was very easy to follow, However I did not take much interest to the topic of the book as it did not appeal to me. I think the book sends across a great message as Samkad’s only desire was to get the cut to prove of his manhood he could not think of anything he wanted more, until everything changed and Samkad realised becoming a man is not just dependent on getting the cut it’s also about him owning up to his responsibilities and his actions and protecting the village from the mangali and any other dangers that may face him. Bone talk tells the story of the Philliapene tribe and there ways of life and the spirits over hundreds of years ago. If I was to give this book a rating out of five I would give it a three as I think the story could’ve of been adapted in a different way making it appeal to different age ratings and also making it more interesting.
