Long Way Down
Long Way Down is a book about a boy who has had to suffer many mass shootings and mourning families in his 15 years, but when his brother, Shawn, is shot things change massively. His mother can't cope and he wants to obey his family rules especially to take revenge. But on the way to kill the person who he think is his brother murderer, ghosts of family, friends, and traitors join him. Their stories change his certainty of who Shawn was killed by.
This book was terrific, the verses really wound you up in the story but the pictures were just the cherry on top. Jason Reynolds really opened that thought of the danger in many city's and how hard but brutal revenge can be. I enjoyed this so much that I read it again just after I finished it. This book is one to read by ALL ages especially young teens.
