Abbey, Christ's Shadowers
The House with Chicken Legs
This story is about Marinka, who is destined to be a Yaga - someone who guides the dead to the stars. The book begins with Baba Yaga (her grandmother) teaching her how to be the Guardian she is destined to be, but all Marinka wants to do is make friends. Her house has chicken legs and moves wherever it is needed, but never long enough for Marinka to make friends.
I found this book was incredibly slow in starting, and quite irritating; but it had some lovely parts, and a delightful ending. Despite it's slow beginning, it is worth reading.
