Lucy, Woodroffe 2019

Long Way Down

I thought that overall this book was a very interesting read. I liked the way it was written in verse form because I think that added some more depth to the plot and made the book more unique. I think that the book is a way of showing to young readers that everyone experiences grief and it can be dealt with in many different ways and I liked that concept as I think it demonstrates that no one is the same and without that individuality, the world would be a boring and lonely place! I liked the characters and I think that the main character was loyal and trustworthy which made the book engaging because I was supporting him throughout. The only downside for me, was that the book was quite short and left you wanting more, however this could be considered positive if you would like a light read. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone ranging from the age of 11-15.
