Long Way Down

Long way down is a book that displays the feelings someone shows when a person they love is killed in front of them. The book explains how the main character feels as he descends down the lift ready to get revenge.

The structure is well developed and is potentially easier to read for someone who may suffer from dyslexia. This is shown with anagrams and short poems. The text also contains faint hints of humour but also some heart-warming or tearful moments.

On the back cover of the book there is a note from the author stating that he wanted to make books that would interest groups of boys who may not enjoy reading long and boring books. He says his goal is to not write boring books.

I would recommend this book to people that may be going through the same thing as the main character. the idea would be to inform them that violence is not the key to anger and mourning.

I feel that long way down would have a chance because most children's books don't involve gangs or guns and it would be helpful for the sake of every child's safety.
