The House with Chicken Legs
The House with Chicken Legs was definitely an interesting read and had lots of changes of scenery despite the fact that it all happens in one place. I liked the fairy tale element of it which makes it more timeless and Marinka is a well developed character. She has clear goals and motives and she also hides a secret that even she doesn't know of.
The sub plots such as the on with Benji the lamb/person should have either been cut out or built upon; it takes up precious pages that could have been used for something more interesting.
I wouldn't recommend this book to someone over other books in the Carnegie but I still rate it baba out of yaga.
