Kieran, Thorpe St Andrew School - Page Turners Reading Group
This book is very inspirational as it tells the story of a boy who is suffering with deep grief and yet still manages to rise above his sorrows to lead a normal if not extraordinary life. Charlie Bell was just an ordinary kid, until his dad collapsed to the floor one day and his life changed forever. Charlie then struggled to fit in with his "normal" life and after trouble came knocking once too many times his mother decides the best move would be to send him to grandparents. Although begrudgingly, Charlie starts getting used to being away from home and as he explores further he stumbles upon one thing, Basketball. Is this the start of his road to recovery?
A great book and a really inspiring read and would recommend it to all as it shows that even if all seems lost, to keep on trying.
