Alistair W, Ermysted's

The Poet X

This book was stunning. It was full of realism and very hard-hitting. It follows the life of a teenage girl named Xiomara and is written entirely in poem-form. The first person poetry tells us about how devoted she is to poetry and it also follows all the problems she has in her life including her mother’s orthodox Christian regime, her homosexual brother, her “stand out” body and her relationship with a boy named Aman. Overall I would rate this book 9/10 and would highly recommend it.
