Momo, Christ's Shadowers

A Skinful of Shadows

A skinful of shadows was a good book as its settings with characters matched the history setting really well. It is a book about Makepeace who lives during the English civil war and was told by her mother to fight the ghosts and spirits that try to inhabit her. Although one day she by accident lets in a ghost of "bear" and realises that these spirits can be in handy of escaping the fellmotts. I think if the book was just about the typical events and more historically fact based it wouldn't be as interesting. The "ghosts" added a sense of mystery, and the idea that Makepeace couldn't trust anyone made the book always have the feeling that you want to know what happens next.
