Rani, Xenial Readers of Rushey Mead
The Day War Came
This book is about the poor children affected by the perils of war . Written so simplistically but effectively it explains this refugee being excluded from a necessity that all children have: school. She desires going to school but is faced with prejudice as a teacher explains that there is no chair for her . However the main moral is that she keeps hope when there is none.
This book is so moving, it truly captivated me . However I think that this book is aimed for an older audience having themes of war but I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I look forward to more books written by Nicola Davies.
