Although it wasn’t my favourite book, I really enjoyed reading this novel. It was full of emotion and had great flow. The book is about a young boy by the name of Charlie “Chuck” Bell who goes to live with his grandparents after a sour relationship with his mother became worse and worse. This is Charlie’s idea of a nightmare, and to add to it he still has not overcome the death of his father earlier in the year which constantly haunts him. After spending a great deal of time at his grandparents, discovering a newfound love for basketball and becoming closer to his cousin Roxy, Charlie learns to open up about his fears and worries. He finds that he has a new sense of maturity about him and his family relationships all take a turn for the better. Overall I would give this book 7.5/10 and would recommend reading it.
