Long Way Down

This novel is about a boy called Will, and his family, or what is left of his family anyway. His brother Shawn was murdered and his gun remains in his bedroom. Will decided to take it to get revenge for his brother: he was only following the rules that has been passed down for generations. Once he enters the elevator, at each stop he meets someone from his past- all dead because of guns.
I like the effective use of short verses on pages because each page talks about something different. I also found the use of illustrations and images of buttons very effective.
However, I was a little confused as to why he was seeing all these people and I found it quite hard to understand why his brother said what he said in the last line of the book.
Overall I disliked more of the book that liked as it left me confused literally until the last line. I rate this book 3 stars out of 5.
