Rosie, Carnegie and Cake

Long Way Down

I was uncertain whether I liked this book or not. But in the way it is written, I feel it makes it really accessible for people who don’t like reading as it gives the a sense of accomplishment when they finish a 300 page book.
I found the book really emotional yet gripping. The ‘rules’ really added something to the book and demonstrated the nature of gang violence. It also is probably the only book I have read which in real life only lasts a few seconds, which is what I think makes it really unique. Another comment about the book, is that if it was not written in blank verse I don’t think it would have had the same emotional effect on the reader. Taking all this in to account, I quite liked the book and would score it between 7.5 and 8 out of 10.
